From former Gotan and Kid Loco musician, comes a new collection of pop gems. Combining within the pop idioma the slam poetry of spokenword artist Tanya Evanson, with brazilian and argentinian sensuality from singers Veronika Silva and Eloisa Da Silva, Brifo designs his vision of electro soundscapes.

Using different aliases, as both musician and producer, Brifo played an active role in the musical trends that shook the electronic music scene during the past decade, joining acts such as Kid Loco, Dj Cam, Salomé Da Bahia or the Gotan Project. " A DJ's musician " as Remix Mag puts it.

Recorded with [internationally renowned] bandoneonist JuanJo Mosalini and pianist Lalo Zanelli [of the Gotan fame], Southfull displays twelve songs and instrumentals, mixing ingredients from pop, soul jazz, tango and bossa.

Through images and metaphors, the lyrics assess the new world disorder and try to find a new balance - southbound. The lyrics relate to a southern way of life as opposed to a north-american or westernized one.

Conveying a deep feeling of saudade (nostalgia in remembrance of allegria), a different sense of time, being both laid-back and active, the Southfull project shows a spirituality tuned to nature, and with a strong impulse toward equality of rights and freedom.

More about the singers:

Multi-faceted Tanya Evanson, self-defined Caribean-Québecoise Lover and Poet, is now based in Istanbul, currently performing as a Whirling Dervish with Mercan Dede, after a 10-year career as a spoken word artist and vocalist in Canada. Her debut album, [Invisible World] displayed emotions, colours and tones brought back from travels throughout the world.Along with four new colourful poems, she enveils another side of her singing talents with [Slow Man] a organ-driven soul-jazz jam, reminder of Jimmy Smith.

Switching from Shakespearian Theater to Tango, Veronika Silva grew a deep sense of drama, conveying nostalgia, humour and sensuality to her interpretations. Meeting Brifo on stage with the Gotan, their first collaboration became [Mi PiaNo RoJo], a piece on the reappropriation of a colonial inheritance.

A true carioca, former model Eloisa Da Silva led a brasilian revue in Paris before entering the crossover world of electro. Featuring on several Bum Bum tracks and on the Nouvelle Vague project, Eloisa brings with [Sozinho] her own rendering of Estate, an italian classic made famous by Joao Gilberto.
